Job description

Join the Goblin Studios Team

Goblin Studios is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC File Creator / CNC Programmer

to join our fabrication team in Orlando, Florida. This position is responsible for taking creative

concepts and production drawings and turning them into accurate, production-ready CNC files.

The ideal candidate understands both the digital design and physical fabrication process

and can confidently move from an Illustrator vector file to a finished CNC toolpath and G-code

program. You should be comfortable working under deadlines, solving problems independently,

and making sure files are ready to run correctly before they reach the CNC machine.

What You'll Do

● Create and prepare CNC-ready files from Adobe Illustrator vector artwork and

production drawings.

● Use Autodesk Fusion 360 to create toolpaths, setups, and CNC programs.

● Generate and prepare G-code for CNC production.

● Work with Mach4 CNC control software to prepare and verify machine-ready

programs.

● Review vector artwork for proper paths, dimensions, scale, closed/open contours, and

machining requirements.

● Determine appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, stepdowns, cutting strategies, and work

offsets.

● Prepare files for cutting a variety of materials including wood, plastics, foam, composites,

and other fabrication materials.

● Work closely with fabricators and project managers to ensure CNC files meet project

requirements.

● Troubleshoot machining and file issues and make adjustments when necessary.

● Meet production deadlines and prioritize multiple projects when required.

● Verify dimensions and toolpaths before sending jobs to the CNC machine.

● Maintain organized digital files and follow company naming and file-management

standards.

● Be willing to jump into other fabrication-related tasks when needed.


Required Skills

Required:

● Strong working knowledge of Fusion 360.

● Strong working knowledge of Mach4.

● Experience creating CNC toolpaths and generating G-code.

● Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, especially creating and preparing vector artwork

for CNC cutting.

● Understanding of CNC machining fundamentals.

● Ability to read drawings, dimensions, and fabrication plans.

● Strong attention to detail.

● Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

● Ability to troubleshoot problems independently.

● Reliable transportation.

● Ability to work as part of a hands-on fabrication team.

Preferred Experience

● Experience operating or programming CNC routers.

● Experience with 3-axis CNC routers.

● Experience with wood, plastics, foam, composites, fiberglass, or scenic fabrication

materials.

● Knowledge of cutting tools and machining strategies.

● Experience working in a scenic fabrication, sign fabrication, exhibit, entertainment,

theme park, or custom fabrication environment.

● Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM workflows.

● Experience working from incomplete or concept-level artwork and determining what is

needed to make it CNC-ready.
