Job description

Overview

We’re hiring a skilled CNC Machinist to join a highly reputable manufacturing facility with deep roots in the machining world. In this high-skill role, you will play a vital role in producing precision components that supply machine shops all over the globe. You will take complete ownership of your production process end-to-end, independently setting up, editing, and operating Vertical and Horizontal CNC Mills and Lathes to perform close-tolerance machining.

You will own the entire lifecycle of your parts—from studying complex blueprints and fabricating your own tooling to conducting First Article Inspections and preparing machines for lights-out manufacturing.

Why Join Us?

  • Global Impact: Be part of a well-established company with a rich history in the industry, supplying essential parts to shops worldwide.
  • Top-Tier Environment: Work in a clean, modern, climate-controlled facility that prides itself on a family-oriented company culture.
  • Growth & Development: Take advantage of our tuition reimbursement program and clear growth opportunities through internal promotions and bonuses
  • Autonomy: Own your process from start to finish with the freedom to fabricate tooling, adjust offsets, and validate your own parts.

Compensation

  • $25 - $30 / hr
  • Bonus Program

Shift

  • 2nd Shift: 4:15pm - 2:45am
  • Monday - Thursday

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance + HSA
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Life insurance + Wellness program
  • Tuition reimbursement program

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Ownership: Run and operate Vertical and Horizontal CNC Mills and Lathes, owning the process from initial setup to final inspection.
  • Technical Setup: Perform full, independent machine setups. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
  • Tool Fabrication: Fabricate your own custom tooling and fixtures from time to time to meet unique production and tolerance demands.
  • Process Adaptation: Actively monitor machine operations and adapt to the parts being produced. Adjust programs, tool offsets, and work offsets as required to ensure perfect tolerances, rather than just blindly running parts.
  • Sustain Operations: Plan and set up machines for unattended operations, ensuring tooling, programs, materials, and safety measures are dialed in for continuous machining.
  • Precision Inspection: Conduct First Article Inspections and check your own parts throughout the run to ensure conformance to tight specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, safeguard and back up existing programs, generate process documents, and provide training to other machinists as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment, independently owning the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC Mills
  • Full Setups & Fabrication: Demonstrated ability to independently perform full machine setups and fabricate custom tooling/fixtures as needed.
  • Blueprint & GD&T Mastery: Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, process documents, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
  • Metrology: Proficiency in performing First Article Inspections and checking your own parts using precision measurement tools.
  • Adaptability & Critical Thinking: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to adapt to varying part requirements and resolve production errors on the fly.

Preferred

  • Quality Standards: Previous experience working in an ISO 9001 certified shop environment.
  • Advanced Machining: Experience planning and executing unattended, "lights-out" operations.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • PTO
  • Life insurance
  • Tuition reimbursement program
  • Bonus program
  • 401(k) with company match
