Racing for Recovery | Trauma-Informed Mental Wellness Education


This is an in-house position


Position Overview

Racing for Recovery is seeking a qualified, experienced, and mission-driven professional to develop a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) curriculum rooted in the foundational work of Todd Crandell and the Racing for Recovery books and workbooks. This role will help translate decades of recovery-based knowledge into high-quality CEU training programs designed to enhance clinical effectiveness, deepen trauma-informed practice, and expand understanding of how healing and balanced holistic living support sustained mental wellness.

This position is ideal for a clinician-educator who values integrity, innovation, and service to the greater good of mental health.


Purpose of the Role

The CEU Curriculum Developer will design, refine, and structure CEU-eligible educational content that:

  • Elevates clinician understanding of trauma and its long-term impact
  • Integrates Racing for Recovery concepts into evidence-informed clinical practice
  • Educates professionals on how clients can attain and sustain mental health through balanced mental, emotional, nutritional, spiritual, and physical wellness
  • Honors lived experience while maintaining clinical rigor and ethical standards
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop CEU curriculum and training materials based on Todd Crandell / Racing for Recovery books, workbooks, and core concepts
  • Translate Racing for Recoveryโ€™s holistic recovery philosophy into clinician-relevant, trauma-informed educational frameworks
  • Align curriculum with state and national CEU requirements (e.g., counseling, social work, addiction, psychology, nursing, allied health)
  • Create learning objectives, course outlines, instructional materials, assessments, and post-course evaluations
  • Collaborate with Racing for Recovery leadership to ensure fidelity to mission, language, and values
  • Support the continuous improvement and expansion of Racing for Recoveryโ€™s educational offerings
  • Assist with documentation needed for CEU approval bodies as required
Requirements:Required Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Addiction Studies, or related behavioral health field
  • Active professional licensure (e.g., LPCC, LISW, LPC, LCSW, LICDC, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, clinical education, training, or teaching
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented treatment models
  • Ability to conceptualize and communicate holistic, lifestyle-based approaches to mental health within professional standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing or delivering CEU-approved trainings
  • Familiarity with Racing for Recovery philosophy, Todd Crandellโ€™s work, or similar holistic recovery models
  • Background integrating lifestyle, wellness, or experiential approaches into clinical practice
  • Experience working with diverse populations impacted by trauma
  • Passion for educating clinicians and elevating the field of mental wellness
