About the Role 

At MrBeast, Creative is 3 things. What we think will happen, what actually happens, and the best story we tell of what happened. As a Director, you are accountable for all three.
You will unmatched ownership over various video projects at various stages, making real-time decisions to protect the creative vision from the kick-off with title and thumbnail through the final edit. You work with the creatives in pre-production to make the best outline of the video possible through concepts, testing, and formats. On set, you will make vital creative decisions that shape the video. This involves real-time writing, problem-solving, and collaborating with production, talent, and contestants, all while keeping the viewer's experience in mind. You will also participate actively in post-production reviews, working to leave notes and feedback to ensure the final product is exceptional. You are the single source of creative truth for your projects, ensuring that the hundreds of decisions made during production align with the core creative vision. 

What you'll be doing in Pre-Production: 

  • Innovate the formats & framework with the team for an original, high-performing viral video
  • Pitch Macro concepts/ideas to the Head of Creative 
  • Lead writing sessions for unique ideas and situations
  • Research trends and tactics for retention

What you'll be doing on Set: 

  • Real time problem solving
  • Direct Talent/Contestants
  • Guide the video to follow the best possible outcome 
  • Work with Production on schedule and readiness
