Batcher / Blender
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish connections and proper routings to supply each production line with designated product.
  • Transport ingredients to the batching area
  • Mix batches to product specifications in a timely manner to keep production lines supplied with juice at all times.
  • C.I.P. blend system when required.
  • Maintain a clean, unobstructed work area at all times.
  • Blend products through a computer blending system as well as manually.
  • Able to accurately use laboratory equipment for testing of finished batch analytical parameters.
  • Maintain concise, accurate records of all mixed batches.
  • Notify management of any source loss or misuse, including spillage, molds, and drum temperatures.
  • Verify the integrity of all connections, using tools specifically designed for associated tasks.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Other duties as directed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Must pass a quality assurance math test.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and computer skills.
  • Possess a high level of personal initiative and sound judgment.
  • Able to work in extreme temperatures and wet/humid environments.
  • Flexible to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Able to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
  • Team oriented.
  • Able to handle drums up to 600 pounds in weight.
  • Able to continuously lift and carry 50 pounds in weight.
  • Able to distinguish tastes, colors, and smells to assure proper coloration, flavor, and smell of blended products.
  • Shows integrity by doing the right thing, even when it is difficult, and does not yield to pressure to show bias.
  • Responds positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems.
