Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to electrcial team for one or more New Product Development (NPD) projects
  • Designs electrical circuit schematics for test boards, prototypes, and new product designs
  • Independantly and creatively develops ideas and solutions to electrical and system design problems
  • Validates, tests, and debugs circuit boardsย 
  • Develops printed circuit board (PCB) layout of complex multi-layer circuit board designs
  • Completes PCB Gerber file generation, ordering, and design file coordination with fabrication house
  • Completes surface mount component rework of printed circuit boards and component replacement as needed
  • Runs and documents electrical and system tests

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of digital/analog circuit design and communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C
  • Solid interpersonal skills in design collaboration with the electrical engineering team
  • Creative Problem Solving Skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer or other similar software
  • Knowledge of the PCB/PCBA manufacturing process
  • Knowledge of electrical design implementation to meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards

Education and Experience Required:

  • Must be pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or other relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET-accredited program, and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year before beginning this co-op rotation.
