Job description

Creative Church in the Twin Cities, MN is a diverse non-denominational, Holy Spirit-filled church focused on creating space for Jesus and inviting others. We are looking for a Little Kids Lead to oversee our Toddlers (ages 2-3) and/or Little Kids (ages 4 to Kindergarten) rooms. This leader will create a fun, safe, and Spirit-filled environment where young children can encounter the love of Jesus.
This person should have a heart for young children, experience in kids ministry, a strong prayer life, and the leadership ability to build and equip volunteer teams.
Leadership Oversight
  • Lead Sunday operations for both the Toddler and Little Kids rooms
  • Be a consistent presence during all services, providing hands-on leadership and classroom support
  • Build and lead volunteer teams for both rooms, ensuring they are fully staffed and running smoothly
  • Host and support first-time serves, making sure they feel welcomed and equipped
  • Monitor check-in and classroom transitions to maintain safety and engagement

Curriculum and Creative Planning
  • Choose weekly age-appropriate activities that align with curriculum goals
  • Prepare curriculum materials and classroom supplies in advance
  • Load and confirm videos and media content for Sunday use
  • Send weekly emails to volunteers with curriculum instructions and key reminders

Volunteer Development
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new volunteers for both rooms
  • Provide clear communication around scheduling, expectations, and Sunday roles
  • Host regular team huddles and trainings to equip volunteers with best practices
  • Offer monthly encouragement and coaching to help volunteers grow in confidence and skill

Parent Engagement
  • Send weekly emails to parents with lesson highlights and ways to engage at home
  • Be available in the hallway to answer questions and help new families feel welcome
  • Partner with parents in the spiritual growth of their young children

Administration and Special Events
  • Maintain up-to-date service flows and volunteer schedules in Planning Center
  • Assist with planning and leading special events that involve Little Kids and Toddlers
  • Work with the Kids Ministry Director on seasonal planning and church-wide events

Qualifications and Skills
  • Mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Passion for ministering to young children and their families
  • Experience in kids ministry and classroom leadership - Please demonstrate in your resume
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic technology skills (Google Suite, Planning Center, etc.)
