At Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc., we deliver confidence through our high-quality products and exceptional service in the residential new construction industry. We take pride in our craftsmanship, our people, and the relationships we build with our customers.
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven Countertop Templator to join our Residential Flooring Team. In this role, you will be responsible for measuring and templating cabinets for countertop installations and providing precise take-off bids to our sales and design teams.
A Typical Day
• Measure and create templates for various countertop materials, ensuring accuracy for installation.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Coordinate and organize schedule for making site visits to new construction and remodel properties.
• Provide detailed drawings and quotes utilizing CAD based programs, a product/bid system and job tracking app.
• Manage changes/additions to materials, bids, and drawings in a timely manner.
• Work effectively with customers and internal employees to build good relationships and expectations.
• Some flooring estimating will be involved depending on the volume of countertop templates on any given day.
Requirements
• Basic construction knowledge.
• Motivation and ability to complete math equations accurately.
• Aptitude to read and interpret cabinet layouts, architectural blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks while meeting quality requirements and deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
Preferred Experience
• Previous countertop templating experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of flooring and countertop software such as Flexijet, Measure and RFMS.
• Knowledge of countertop materials and installation methods is preferred.
