Full-Time | 4 Days On / 2 Days Off Rotation

We are currently seeking an experienced Dietary Cook / Lead Cook to join our culinary team. This is not an entry-level cooking position - we are looking for someone with strong kitchen experience, leadership ability, and a genuine passion for preparing quality meals.

Dietary Cook / Lead Cook Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus and standardized recipes
  • Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented with quality, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Follow all food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures in compliance with company policies and health regulations
  • Maintain appropriate food temperatures during preparation, holding, and service
  • Accurately record food and equipment temperatures according to established procedures
  • Ensure meals are served in an attractive, appetizing, and timely manner
  • Assist with menu execution for special events, holiday meals, and resident functions
  • Monitor food inventory and notify management of needed supplies or shortages
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store food items following established guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, prep, storage, and service areas
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen equipment according to sanitation procedures
  • Support teamwork within the dietary department and assist with training or guiding kitchen staff when needed
  • Make recommendations for improvements in recipes, menu items, kitchen operations, and food service processes
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience required
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, catering, restaurant, hotel, country club, or high-volume food service environments preferred
  • Ability to prepare multiple menu items efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization
  • Ability to work independently and lead by example in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
