Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is making waves in the Mid-Atlantic with our newest location in Spotsylvania, Virginia, expected to open late 2026. Our fifth resort will feature over 175,000 square feet of indoor waterpark fun, 900 family-friendly suites, and a massive convention center.
Executive Steward
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Executive Steward. In this role, you would be responsible for the operations of all kitchen dishwashing/stewarding associates to ensure proper washing of kitchen utensil sanitation. He/she is also responsible for supervising associates who clean/wash outlet surfaces and utensils, making sure they are clean and in compliance with all Health Department requirements and hotel/resort guidelines.
As part of our leadership team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love-by creating a supportive, respectful, and service-focused environment where team members feel valued, developed, and empowered to succeed. In a high-volume resort and convention setting, this means leading with empathy while maintaining high operational and cleanliness standards.
The anticipated hire date for this position is mid to late Summer.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all stewarding operations across restaurants, banquets, conventions, bars, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage, train, coach, and schedule stewarding teams while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all sanitation, food safety, OSHA, and health department regulations throughout kitchens and food & beverage operations.
  • Support large-scale banquet and convention events by coordinating dishwashing, kitchen support, equipment setup, and operational readiness.
  • Monitor stewarding inventories, equipment, labor, and operational expenses, including china, glassware, chemicals, and cleaning supplies.
  • Partner closely with culinary, banquet, restaurant, and engineering teams to maintain smooth daily operations and high cleanliness standards across the resort.

What We're Looking For
  • 3-5+ years of stewarding or kitchen operations leadership experience in a high-volume hotel, resort, casino, or convention center environment.
  • Experience managing large teams in multi-outlet food & beverage operations.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation standards, chemical handling, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Experience supporting large banquets and convention operations.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus in large hospitality operations.
