Director of Banquets
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Director of Banquets. Lead with excellence and deliver exceptional moments-become the Director of Banquets who shapes the guest experience at one of the nation's premier convention destinations You will also ensure the quality of service, compliance with health, safety, and sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
As part of our leadership team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love-guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You'll ensure events are well-organized and run smoothly, creating a positive and memorable experience for guests. In addition, you'll lead and support the banquet team, helping associates deliver high-quality service with confidence.
The anticipated hire date for this position is late Summer 2026.
Salary Range - $100k - $120k
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all banquet event operations with strong on-the-floor leadership to ensure flawless setup, service, and execution.
  • Lead, coach, and develop banquet managers and associates while managing staffing levels, scheduling, and labor control.
  • Partner with Sales, Convention Services, and culinary teams to align expectations and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain operational standards, ensuring compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company policies.
  • Manage financial responsibilities, including labor forecasting, inventory control, and operational expense oversight.
  • Continuously review event outcomes to drive process improvements, efficiency, and elevated service quality.

What We're Looking For
  • We do require that you have a background consisting of at least four to five years of management experience in a significant convention center or large hotel (over 500 room property).
  • Beverage experience is required.
  • Prior experience working in banquet/event space centers of 75,000+ sq. ft.
  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish speaking is helpful.
