Job description

Overview

The Contractor Account Manager is a driven and detail-oriented salesperson responsible for expanding sales within the Landscape Business Unit in the Florida and Southeast Regions. This role involves developing and executing targeted sales and promotional strategies to enhance Rain Bird's presence among top professional irrigation contractors and distributors. The focus is on differentiating Rain Bird through exceptional customer service, high visibility, and a robust call coverage strategy.

This role isย remote, covering the North Florida and Southern Southeast regions. Candidates must be based in this area and capable of accommodating up to 50% overnight travel.

Responsibilities
  • Grow sales faster than the market growth rate and achieve sales objectives.
  • Analyze the market as it relates to market share, penetration and growth opportunities and develop an annual strategic plan to reach sales targets and corporate objectives.
  • Develop and execute sales and promotional efforts with the Distributor Manager, District Sales Managers, other Contractor Account Managers, Area Specification Managers, and key distributors to grow Rain Bird sales with top professional irrigation contractor targets.
  • Strive to differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by providing excellent customer service, high visibility, and robust call coverage cycle.
  • Assist the Region Manager and Product Managers in determining market trends and needs.
  • Maintain, utilize, and grow contractor database for direct marketing and communication efforts.
  • Educate and influence the irrigation contractor on the value of Rain Bird's turf products.
  • Participation and development of strategic contractor events, tradeshows, and regional events.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a relevant field.
  • 3 + years of progressive sales experience, demonstrating a strong will to win, competitive spirit.
  • Experience selling within a related industry (construction, industrial, landscaping, irrigation)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong aptitude for general business practices.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to responsibilities. Capable of taking ownership of tasks while collaborating effectively within a team and thriving with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance productivity.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience in irrigation design, installation, and sales, with a solid understanding of industry's best practices and customer needs.
  • 7 + years of progressive sales experience.
  • An MBA or relevant graduate degree, providing a strong foundation in business principles and strategic thinking.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
