Controller

Location: Dayton, United States (On-site) Experience: Senior Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

Recruiting for Good is seeking a seasoned Controller to support a manufacturing client in Dayton, Ohio. This on-site contract role requires immediate availability and deep expertise in both general accounting and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of Plex ERP and the ability to step into a hands-on, impactful position.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all general accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations

  • Oversee financial reporting and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery

  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes to support operational and strategic planning

  • Monitor cost accounting activities and analyze variances related to production, inventory, and materials

  • Partner with operations leadership to provide financial insights that support performance and efficiency

  • Maintain internal controls and support audit preparation and execution

  • Utilize Plex ERP to manage financial data, reporting, and workflow optimization

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and documentation

Required Qualifications
  • Senior-level accounting experience with a strong background in manufacturing

  • Proficiency with Plex ERP, including hands-on experience within a production environment

  • Deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and standard manufacturing financial processes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

  • Ability to work on-site in Dayton, Ohio

  • Availability to start immediately

Nice to Have
  • CPA or other relevant accounting certification

  • Experience leading or mentoring accounting teams

  • Prior experience supporting continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives
