  • Clinitiative Health Research partners with high-quality independent clinical research sites to enhance their visibility and competitiveness in securing clinical trials. We provide specialized business development, operational support, and marketing services tailored to the unique needs of research sites, while collaborating closely with pharmaceutical/biotech Sponsors and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to ensure optimal site selection for successful trial outcomes.
  • Position Overview This role begins as a 90-day independent contractor (1099) engagement, with the potential for conversion to full-time employment (W-2, salary, and benefits) based solely on performance. The Business Development Manager reports directly to the executive team and is responsible for driving new client acquisition by identifying, engaging, and onboarding prospective clinical research sites. Success in this position requires strong sales discipline, industry knowledge, and consistent delivery against defined targets.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Develop deep expertise in the pharmaceutical/biotech drug development process and clinical trial ecosystem to communicate effectively with site leadership.
  • Proactively identify and qualify prospective clinical research sites through targeted market research and outbound prospecting.
  • Execute persistent, multi-channel outreach (email, phone, video calls, industry conferences, and in-person meetings) to build relationships and generate opportunities.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects to meet or exceed assigned revenue and sales targets.
  • Clearly articulate Clinitiative's value proposition, demonstrating how our services increase sites' visibility to Sponsors and CROs and drive trial awards.
  • Prepare, present, negotiate, and finalize proposals and service agreements with prospective clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with new and existing contacts across sites, Sponsors, and CROs to support ongoing business development and referrals.
  • Achieve and consistently meet assigned sales quotas.
  • Collaborate with internal operations, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure seamless client delivery.
  • Accurately document all prospecting activities, pipeline status, and client interactions in the company's CRM system.
  • Proactively manage client relationships to ensure high satisfaction and long-term partnership.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required in a fast-paced environment.
  • Employment Structure
  • Initial engagement: Independent contractor (1099) for 90 days.
  • Compensation during contractor period: Performance-based (commission and/or draw structure to be detailed during the interview process).
  • Conversion to full-time employment is at the company's sole discretion and contingent upon meeting or exceeding all established performance metrics and quotas during the 90-day period. There is no automatic entitlement to full-time status.
  • In the event performance criteria are not met, the engagement may conclude at the end of the contractor period with no further obligation.
  • All leads, contacts, pipeline, and business relationships developed during the engagement remain the exclusive property of Clinitiative Health Research.
  • Standard confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation provisions will apply.

  • Requirements
    • 5+ years experience in the clinical research industry
    • 5+ years of sales or related experience in clinical research within a Site Network, CRO, Sponsor/Pharmaceutical company that provides knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
    • Knowledge of the drug R&D process at pharma and biotech level
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Organized and team oriented
    • Self-motivated with demonstrated experience in identifying and developing sales leads and strategies to increase win rate
    • Comfortable giving presentations to knowledgeable audience
    • A self-starter and a hunter's mentality
    • Attention to detail
    • US work authorization (Required)
    • Bachelor's in Science (Preferred)
    • Salesforce experience (Preferred)
    • Science/sales background with understanding of clinical research
