Description:
The Procurement Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management, strategic execution, and continuous improvement of procurement, contingent labor, and benefits-related initiatives that support overall business objectives. This role leads cross-functional procurement projects, drives operational efficiencies, manages supplier and stakeholder relationships, and supports the implementation and ongoing management of procurement technology and workforce solutions.
The position has a significant impact on business performance through project delivery, supplier management, cost optimization, implementation of MSP/VMS initiatives, and execution of procurement operational strategies. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, analytical, and vendor management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operational, functional, and project management activities related to procurement and contingent labor programs.
  • Lead and support the digital technology roadmap initiatives related to Benefits and Contingent Labor Vendor Management Systems.
  • Provide ongoing Client separation activity support and coordinate related procurement and operational activities.
  • Manage additional Benefits engagements outside the U.S. (OUS), including administration and renewal of individual SOWs tied to separation initiatives.
  • Support contingent labor business requests by evaluating engagement opportunities, identifying savings levers, and driving procurement efficiencies.
  • Provide ad hoc procurement and project management support for initiatives such as:
    • Tail spend reduction strategies with MSP partners
    • Escalation management and issue resolution
    • Process improvement initiatives
    • Supplier optimization efforts
  • Lead or support Contingent Labor MSP/VMS implementation projects, including planning, stakeholder coordination, execution, risk management, and post-implementation support.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement operational plans aligned with department and enterprise business objectives.
  • Provide input into purchasing policies, procedures, governance standards, and operational performance measures.
  • Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor project budgets, resources, and departmental expenses to ensure adherence to approved financial targets.
  • Communicate departmental goals and project objectives to stakeholders and support teams while overseeing performance against established metrics.
  • Summarize escalated operational and supplier-related issues, recommend resolutions, and execute corrective actions.
  • Review market trends, pricing intelligence, and emerging supplier capabilities to support procurement strategies and sourcing decisions.
  • Support supplier evaluations, negotiation activities, contract management, and vendor onboarding for key procurement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, MSPs, VMS providers, and internal business stakeholders to ensure service, quality, and delivery expectations are met.
  • Track and report procurement project milestones, business outcomes, risks, savings opportunities, and operational performance metrics to leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience required. (ok with associates degree as long as they have procurement and project management exp)
  • Typically requires 8 10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, contingent labor management, program management, or related operational leadership roles.
  • Experience supporting MSP and VMS implementations and contingent workforce programs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement operations, supplier management, contract administration, and project management methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with global teams, enterprise systems, and external vendors preferred.
