Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Penske Logistics Corporate Human Resources team is seeking a Senior Manager of HR Support Services. This role cultivates support teams to effectively engage, manage, and implement new and add business with a focus on process execution and continuous improvement. The role also oversees our contingent labor strategy, including vendor management, and drives solutions that have focus on customer retention and new and additional revenue opportunities.
 
This position will require a strategic business partner approach, collaborating with operations, field HR, talent acquisition, talent development, legal, security, compensation, staffing and workforce systems and analytics to deliver results. The role will lead and manage HR implementation activities related to new/add customer business, which includes coordination with all PTS HR departments and PL support departments. 
 
Qualified candidates for this role will have at least 5 years of progressive HR experience, including strong examples of influence and change management through collaboration. Experience in new business implementations or acquisitions is preferred. This position will be based out of Penske's corporate office located in Reading, PA, 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia. This is an office first position at least 4 days in office per week. This role will require travel up to 30%.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Act as a strategic business partner, providing senior leadership with analysis and strategies designed to drive business results.
 
Regularly analyze data from a human capital management perspective. Provide leadership with relevant and meaningful HR metrics and analytics to enable operations to fully leverage human capital to drive business outcomes. 
 
Own implementations from contracting phase through post-implementation.
 
Project management including formalization and active management of project plans, clarifying timelines and milestones, and identifying and communicating project risks.
 
Lead process improvement, centralization and implementation efforts for projects and programs supported by HR Support Services.
 
Schedule and lead the implementation meetings. Ensure all "subject matter experts" are informed and understand objectives for launch of implementation.
 
Act as a liaison across labor, benefits, safety, project team, implementations team and talent acquisition and guide the necessary work and collaboration.
 
Manage the implementation check lists in partnership with the field HR team. Coordinate and track HR resources for implementation
 
Own strategic management of the Contingent Labor Program, including vendor relationships, compliance, workforce planning, reporting, and policy implementation. 
 
Provide field operations with tools and resources necessary to utilize lease labor through our vendor management system Beeline and our third-party lease suppliers.
 
Oversee and direct work of HR Support Services Team, which includes 5 associates. 
Regularly analyze programs and processes and make recommendations to drive continuous improvement and business outcomes. 
Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the manager. 
Up to 30% travel, overnight and occasional weekend/off shift work is required to support business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years HR practitioner experience required. 
3+ years project management experience required. 
Experience in new business implementations or acquisitions preferred. 
Bachelor's Degree in HR, I/O psychology, business, communications, supply chain, or related field required. 
PHR/SHRM CP/SCP or other HR certification is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to structure and manage complex cross-functional projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels required.  
Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners
Strong understanding of Penske Logistics' product offerings and processes.
The ability to handle pressure, meet deadlines, and react quickly to changing business demands.
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, peers, and resources within other departments.
Ability to build relationships at all levels within an organization. Demonstrated strategic thinking.
Frequent travel around the country is required. 
Valid Driver's License.
