Job description

Job Summary
The Principal, Consumer Markets, will be responsible for development, implementation and monitoring of strategy work for all Consumer/Government Markets & Market Development. This individual will partner cross-functionally with sales leadership, marketing and product teams, managing initiatives from ideation to execution. This includes developing strategies by market segment and region, with a focus on constantly monitoring results and evolving strategies to meet organizational goals.
The role requires exceptional analytical acumen and strategic foresight to ensure Priority Health remains competitive and effective in an evolving healthcare landscape.
This individual will hold responsibility for developing divisional and growth strategies, membership forecasts, and sales funnel tracking while aligning divisional execution to the strategy. This role also serves as the Business Owner over our go-to-market and complex strategies.. This individual will also have responsibility for strategic and special projects including integration efforts following M&A activity and major cross-enterprise initiatives. The role will focus on setting and measuring progress toward strategic goals, prioritizing initiatives, ensuring divisional accountability, and overseeing critical financial planning functions.
This individual will be responsible and accountable for the success of developing strategies and executing against plans that support organizational objectives and long-range plans to achieve growth. This individual will need to develop an understanding of and stay current with the competitive market landscape. An ability to conduct sophisticated, detailed and creative analysis and clearly communicate results through written and verbal channels is required.
The role requires a senior, highly collaborative professional who combines strategic thinking, structured problem solving, rigorous analytics, and strong influencing skills.
Essential Functions
  • With significant autonomy, leads Consumer Markets strategic planning with leadership and key market leaders determining and providing appropriate quantitative and qualitative inputs. The strategic plan will consider business performance, market competition, researched innovation, and shifting demographics. Bring innovative thinking and ideas to the table for leadership consideration. Includes market expansion as a result of M&A activity.
  • Direct "Run the Business" operations including KPI reporting, operational cadence, and strategy integration. Works autonomously to prepare complex information such as documents, reports, charts, and graphs using a variety of software. Performs independent research and prepares information and analytical analysis for special projects, board level presentations, executive-level communications, etc. Liaises with key stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Independently maintains accountability for completion of assigned projects.
  • Create and implement standard strategic planning process and evaluate effectiveness. Uses data gathered on program performance, changes in competitive market and competitor moves (or anticipated moves) to position Priority Health ahead of the evolving health care landscape.
  • Define, develop, manage, and own executive reporting on key metrics, formulate actionable insights and structure a concise, clear presentation of findings and suggested tactics, and prioritize issues as appropriate. Conduct sophisticated and creative analysis, translating those results to easily digestible messages, communications, and presentations including Develops and coordinates the assessment, analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex/multi-faceted projects/programs.
  • Partners to determine a strategic go-to-market plan for new product lines based on primary and secondary research.
  • Lead the development and ownership of divisional membership forecasts by analyzing historical trends, market dynamics, and sales performance. Ensure forecasts are integrated into strategic planning cycles, with clear accountability and action plans across sales, marketing, product and client experience teams.
  • Engages in continuous study of the entire professional field, including best practices, to maintain cutting-edge knowledge and skills for the execution of all assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, marketing, statistics, mathematics or related field (or equivalent education and experience)
  • Preferred Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field
  • 12 years of relevant experience Progressive experience in strategic planning, business analysis, and executive stakeholder management Required
  • 7 years of relevant experience Healthcare industry experience Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience Health insurance industry Preferred
