Join Our Team as a Receptionist (Path to Project Manager Assistant)!
ABEL Construction Company is looking for a skilled Receptionist - Path to PMA to join our growing team. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are ready to contribute to exciting projects, we'd love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Administrative (Primary)
  • Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • Receive and distribute mail, deliveries, and messages • Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments
  • Provide general administrative support including data entry, filing and document management,
  • Order and maintain office supplies; coordinate staff lunches and manage outgoing mail and packages
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Review and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system, ensuring required documentation is complete
  • Distribute checks as directed and notarize applicable lien waiver
  • Route, track and obtain signatures on project and corporate documents
  • Provide administrative support to Project Management Assistants (PMAs) on active projects

Project Manager Assistant (Training & Development)
  • Support Project Managers with administrative tasks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with issuing subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Help track change orders, submittals, and project documentation
  • Participate in maintaining job files, project records, and correspondence
  • Assist with meeting minutes, RFIs, and transmittals
  • Learn construction software systems (e.g., Autodesk, Sage Intact or similar)
  • Support billing processes, including applications for payment and basic accounting coordination
  • Assist with project closeout documentation

Note: PMA responsibilities will be introduced progressively based on training and business needs.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred
  • 1+ year of administrative, receptionist, or office support experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Interest in construction, project coordination, or operations preferred
  • Ability to obtain Notary Public license within 90 days of hire
