Title: Associate in Training – Interior Construction Design Manager Report to:
Manager/Director/Branch Leader/Market Leader Desired Experience and Skills:
• 0-2 years related industry experience
• 0-2+ years Revit experience
• Preferred Degrees: Architectural Technology, Architecture, Interior Design (Engineering
associated)

Role Summary:
An Associate in Training is responsible for learning, understanding, and embracing CBI's design and
delivery methods, policies, procedures, and selling strategies. The AIT will learn and perform
Interior Construction design management under the supervision of their direct manager and CBI
training coordinator. Upon successful completion of the AIT Individual Development Plan (IDP), the
AIT is formally reviewed by their direct manager and may advance to Interior Construction Design
Manager (ICDM), the transition role to move from training to a fully qualified and broadly
functional, independent ICDM.

Responsibilities:
• Diligently pursue and complete training activities to gain a broad awareness of CBI
methodologies.
• Learn to analyze construction drawing sets and specifications
• Learn presentation design support
• Learn to communicate effectively and professionally with project teams & coalition
partners
• Learn to think creatively to identify cost impacts
• Create renderings and other visual media
• Become proficient in Revit
• Utilize Bluebeam, Excel, Enscape, AutoCAD
• Prepare drawings and submittal packages
• Learn to demonstrate thorough understanding of design details to recommend appropriate
solutions
• Manage file sharing and scheduling with manufacturers
• Learn project financials within business system
• Product selection and order entry
• Create and maintain relationships with coalition partners
• Learn to manage a variety of projects and tasks. Support pricing, cost review and project
tracking.
• Work closely with project team (Estimator, Project Manager, Field Operations)
