Job description

About the Role:
Beck Construction & Excavation is looking for an experienced CDL Truck Driver (Class A) to join our team. This position plays a key role in hauling rock, dirt, concrete, equipment, and other materials to and from project sites while ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.
Our CDL Drivers are not just operators โ€” they are trusted team members who help keep our projects running smoothly. When not driving, youโ€™ll assist on-site crews with general labor, cleanup, or equipment-related tasks.

What Youโ€™ll Do:
  • ย Safely operate company trucks with manual transmissions, including up to 18-speed transmissions, to haul materials and equipment between project sites.ย 
  • Follow all FMCSA, DOT, and company safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation.
  • Perform light maintenance such as greasing, checking fluids, and replacing lights as needed.
  • Ensure materials are properly loaded, secured, and tarped before transport.
  • Keep vehicles clean, organized, and free of debris inside and out.
  • Communicate with dispatchers, foremen, and project teams to coordinate loads and delivery schedules.
  • Report any safety, equipment, or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and inspection logs.
  • Support crews with general labor tasks when not driving.

What You Bring:
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driverโ€™s License (CDL) in good standing with experience operating manual transmission trucks.ย 
  • Current DOT Medical Examinerโ€™s Certificate (Medical Card).
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate manual transmission commercial trucks, including up to 18-speed transmissions.ย 
  • Experience operating dump trucks, transport trucks, side dumps, lowboys, or similar heavy equipment transport vehicles preferred.
  • Clean driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and safety-focused.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings per DOT requirements.
