Primary Job Functions: Support hardware and software needs of Avon Community School Corporation's staff and students. This position is headquartered in the Corporation Technology Office with the field technician team and is responsible for resolution of reported technology workorders submitted by schools and departments.
Salary Lane: Hourly pay starting at $24.50.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Assigned Workday Calendar: 260/261 days (Full Calendar Year)
Job Status: Full-Time - 40 Hours per Week
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications:- Education: Technical training beyond a high school diploma.
- Certification: None is required.
- Experience: Job experience with maintenance of computers, peripherals, networks, basic audio-visual equipment, installation/configuration of software and telecommunications.
- Skills and Knowledge: Communication skills: Writing, listening, speaking, and reading. Telephone support skills
- Operating knowledge in MS-Windows, MS- Office and network environments. Interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with students, teachers, administration, and staff in and out of the classroom. Experience working with Microsoft. Specific skills required:
- Moving and connecting computer systems.
- Installing computer and networking components.
- Diagnosing and repairing computer related problems.
- Installing, diagnosing, and setting up computer peripherals.
- Installing, evaluating, and setting up software.
- Other: Ability to maintain a positive relationship with pu pils, staff, parents, and the community.
Essential Functions:- Assist with corporation-wide responsibilities/work.
- Maintain an accurate inventory and service record.
- Assist with deliveries, setup, and repairs.
- Provide resource service for staff.
- Maintain, repair, and clean existing equipment.
- Install or replace memory, drives, power supplies, cards, and other components.
- Image and deploy computers
- Run basic hardware/software and systems diagnostics.
- Attend additional training when necessary.
- Assist staff with software questions.
- Willing and able learn new technologies.
- Willing and able to provide ad-hoc deskside support/training.
- Perform other tasks as directed.
- Participate in professional development, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Qualifications:- Good eye-hand coordination.
- Health and general physical condition that enable the candidate to accomplish the duties required.
- Appropriate grooming and appearance.
- Ability to lift and carry computer parts up to 50 lbs.
- Sufficient agility to work in and around equipment.
- Ability to do over-head work from a ladder.
- Transportation to move components between buildings.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
