Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Computer Aided Design Operator to join our team in Crane, IN. You will help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement at an industry-leading organization. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks to generate 2D and 3D digital models and schematics from design specifications.
* Reading and translating rough sketches, field survey notes, and engineering calculations into actionable designs and buildable models.
* Modifying existing plans based on feedback and design changes from architects, engineers, or clients to ensure drawings accurately reflect project requirements.
* Verifying that all drawings and dimensions adhere to specific industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
* Working alongside project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure design integrity and cross-functional alignment.
* Organizing electronic files, maintaining version control, and updating internal project documentation databases to ensure streamlined file management. Minimum Qualifications: * 7+ years professional experience working closely with design originators, preparing drawings of unusual, complex, or original designs which require a high degree of precision.
* Technical School degree in Drafting, Illustrating or Graphic Arts Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
* 3+ years of related experience supporting DoD environments or government contracting.
* Self-starter with excellent people skills who can drive change and technical excellence throughout an organization. Clearance Requirements: * Must possess a Secret security clearance Physical Requirements: * Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
* Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
* Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
* Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
