Job description

The Community Service Manager manages day-to-day community service programs and outreach activities. This role coordinates service delivery, supports staff and volunteers, strengthens community partnerships, and ensures accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with organizational and grant requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day community service and outreach activities to ensure high-quality, timely service delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, schools, faith communities, and other stakeholders to support referrals, joint programming, and resident engagement.
  • Plan and support community events, presentations, and informational sessions; represent the organization at meetings, coalitions, and neighborhood forums as assigned.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to program staff and volunteers; assist with onboarding, scheduling, coaching, and performance feedback in collaboration with leadership.
  • Support volunteer recruitment, screening, training, placement, and recognition (as applicable); ensure volunteers adhere to organizational policies and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate referrals and case/program workflows; ensure appropriate follow-up, service continuity, and warm handoffs to internal and external resources.
  • Maintain accurate participant, service, and outcome documentation; ensure data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Prepare routine program reports, dashboards, and narratives for internal leadership, funders, and partners, as requested.
  • Support program planning and continuous improvement by tracking trends, gathering feedback, and recommending process enhancements.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, purchasing, and resource coordination for program activities within assigned areas, following organizational procedures.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, nonprofit management, human services, education, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
3-5+ years of progressively responsible experience in community services, outreach, volunteer coordination, program coordination, or related nonprofit work. Demonstrated commitment to equitable, community-informed service delivery and strong cultural humility when working with diverse communities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and public speaking.
