About the position:

The Community Development Manager is responsible for seeking out new residential sales opportunities for Omni Fiber. The Community Development Manager will be working in the following Southwest Pennsylvania territory: Pittsburgh, Uniontown, Hermitage, Ellwood City, Sharon, New Castle, and Girard. They will secure new opportunities through the development of relationships with, but not limited to, Multi-Dwelling Unit owners, residential housing contractors, and homeowner's associations. The manager will work with Operations to maintain a timeline and schedule that provides efficient delivery of Omni Fiber services to the end customer and partners.

What you will do:

  • Be responsible for homes passed growth.
  • Secure and negotiate Utility Access Agreements and Service Provider Partnership agreements with MDU owners and work with Marketing to develop plans to secure new residential business through these partnerships.
  • Create and maintain a weekly sales pipeline that consists of pertinent information related to the selling of services to new partners.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Negotiate the terms that will be used to secure new residential customers through these relationships. 
  • Work with Finance and Marketing to develop financial models for breakeven analysis, Cost-per-Acquisition and payback analysis to evaluate new opportunities.
  • Attend, as needed, local community events including owners' association meetings with the purpose of forwarding the agenda of Omni Fiber to increase our residential services to the community.
  • Work with zoning boards, permitting authorities, MDU authorities, and market Supervisors.
  • Identify competitive threats and report those to the sale and marketing leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in business development, sales or marketing in the telecommunications industry.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing to senior executives and business partners.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Cable/Telecom industries and technology utilized for delivery of broadband service.
  • Positive attitude to properly represent Omni Fiber in local communities.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams like construction, sales, engineering, and operations.
  • Must be detail-oriented & maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relationship-building skills with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in computer usage with good typing skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
