Position Overview

Fori Automation is a growing global supplier of advanced automation, assembly, testing, welding, and material handling systems serving automotive and diversified industrial markets. The OEM Account Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue growth within assigned North American automotive OEM accounts. This position serves as the primary customer interface for business development, quotation activities, commercial negotiations, and long-term account management of End-of-Line (EOL) testing and assembly automation systems.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with consultative selling skills to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, and coordinate internal resources to deliver profitable solutions that exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to increase sales, market share, and profitability within assigned OEM accounts.

  • Identify new vehicle programs, facility expansions, and automation opportunities aligned with Fori Automation capabilities.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customer decision-makers, engineering teams, purchasing groups, and executive leadership.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers including General Motors, Stellantis, and other OEMs as assigned.

Account Management & Customer Relations

  • Build long-term partnerships through proactive communication and customer engagement.

  • Support customer visits, technical reviews, equipment demonstrations, and sales presentations.

  • Maintain accurate opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and account activity reports.

Proposal Development & Commercial Management

  • Lead RFQ review, opportunity qualification, proposal strategy, and quotation development.

  • Coordinate development of Statements of Requirements (SORs) and supplier RFQs as required.

  • Manage commercial negotiations including pricing, scope, schedules, payment terms, warranties, and contractual requirements.

  • Support purchase order processing and project handoff activities.

Key Responsibilities, Continued

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Engineering, Estimating, Project Management, Purchasing, and Operations teams to develop competitive solutions.

  • Ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and aligned with project deliverables.

  • Support global OEM opportunities through coordination with other Fori Automation locations and partners.

Technical Sales

  • Promote End-of-Line testing systems including wheel aligners, headlamp aimers, roll and brake test systems, ADAS solutions, and related technologies.

  • Support sales of assembly automation, installation tooling, material handling systems, AGVs, and custom automated equipment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in automation systems, custom machinery, assembly systems, welding automation, or capital equipment sales.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation and End-of-Line testing systems.
  • Proven success managing strategic customer relationships and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/sales management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Traveling up to approximately 20%
Preferred Qualifications
  • Existing relationships within automotive OEM organizations.
  • Experience selling engineered systems, assembly equipment, or manufacturing automation solutions.
  • Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and plant operations.
