Job description

Command Post Technologies employees work side-by-side with our clients on some of the most complex technical challenges facing our nation.  Security Clearance: U.S Citizenship and Active TS/SCI clearance We are seeking a Network Engineer Tier-2 in Norfolk, VA that is a self-motivated and dedicated individual to join our expanding Network Operations & Security Center (NOSC) team. This role will require a broad array of technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to support a wide range of network equipment. This role will include responsibility for monitoring equipment spread across multiple sites and will require the ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues as they come up while keeping the relevant stake holders informed as needed. The qualified individual will be able to work quickly and effectively to resolve problems. They will need to be able to work both independently and as part of the NOSC team.  Requirements Candidates must be able to work between the hours of the below shifts: -9:30am-7:30pm -7:00pm-5:00am Position Requirements Primary Responsibilities: * Provides customer support, service, and technical support through analysis and problem solving.
* Conduct Tier-2 analysis of customer issues, generate trouble tickets, and work to ensure timely resolution.
* Document network events and proactively seek solutions to outages, etc.
* Build and maintain NOSC situational awareness through change-over briefings and pass-down logs.
What You'll Be Doing: * Will work days/nights/weekends 24/7 shift in support of network operations monitoring
* Using SolarWinds and other custom solutions for network troubleshooting and support
* Recognize and prioritize network incidents, use analytical skills to remediate or escalate to higher tier as needed
* Notification to customer and third-party vendors of network related issues and outages
* Document all tools, tactics and procedures
* Supporting and troubleshooting Cisco routing and switching equipment as well as other components of LAN and WAN networks
Required Qualifications: * 3+ years of experience in a broad range of technical task assignments
* IAT Level II Security Certification (Security + CE or GSEC or SSCP or CCNA-Security)
* Cisco experience
Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a related field
* Help Desk ticketing experience
* SolarWinds experience
* Juniper experience
