Job description

Joining Collibra's Customer Engineering team
We're shaping the way some of the largest organizations in the world manage data by helping customers connect the right data and insights for all Data Citizens. We are building a team of exceptional people to help us deliver on that promise. As a Senior Customer Engineer, you are the guiding force behind bringing Collibra's product and vision to customers and prospects. Senior Customer Engineers establish knowledgeable and trusted relationships from day one and serve as thoughtful technical advisors.
As a Senior Customer Engineer at Collibra, within the Global Specialist team, you will partner closely with other Customer Engineers to provide deep technical expertise throughout the entire customer journey, both pre- and post-sale. You will fill an essential and highly respected role in the sales organization at Collibra, collaborating and building relationships cross-functionally and across geographies for the larger team's success.
This is remote role based in USA.
Senior Customer Engineers at Collibra are responsible for
  • Providing timely technical expertise on Collibra's products to customers, prospects, partners, and internal teams.
  • Mapping solutions to value across large and dynamic customers, bridging both business and technical requirements.
  • Advising and supporting customers' technical stakeholders to accelerate Collibra adoption and value realization.
  • Creating and maintaining lab environments and playbooks for successful technical demonstrations and evaluations by peers and partners.
  • Collaborating with the Product team by giving early product feedback and sharing field observations and customer insights to enhance competitive advantage.
You have
  • 2+ years in a Customer Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or technical customer facing role supporting enterprise software, with 4+ years total experience in the data ecosystem.
  • A good understanding of two or more of the following disciplines: data governance, data catalogs, data integration, data quality and data privacy platforms, specifically how they serve as the critical foundation for "AI-ready data".
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data infrastructure, including leading PaaS providers, Data Lakes, Lakehouses, Cloud Warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), and API-driven integration platforms.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting complex enterprise software solutions.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
You are
  • An effective communicator who can explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
  • Able to understand customer business needs and identify the technical solutions that support meaningful business outcomes.
  • Comfortable presenting and sharing expertise with highly skilled technical audiences.
  • Motivated by continuous learning and excited to deepen your understanding of both customer challenges and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative team player who works effectively across sales, product, and engineering teams to drive outcomes.
  • Willing to travel up to 20%.
Measures of success
  • Within your first month, you will be able to clearly explain the value of the Collibra platform and understand key concepts and terminology related to it.
  • Within three months, you will be able to conduct product demonstrations, and be able to present solutions aligned to customer value, with minimal support.
  • Within six months, you will achieve two Collibra certifications and be able to explain, present, set up, configure, and troubleshoot Collibra Platform integrations with external systems.
  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring the sales process runs smoothly and efficiently.
Compensation for this role
The standard base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $175,000 per year. This position is eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
