JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager, Digital Workplace Collaboration Systems owns the management and delivery of the collaboration platforms that empower our employees to connect, communicate, and collaborate with each other, and to deliver awesome outcomes. This leader pursues great outcomes and user experiences over specific tools and technologies, and provides strategic leadership in the implementation, management and operational support of digital workplace collaboration systems. This manager will have primary responsibility for the daily operations, maintenance, and support of Delta Dental's communications, collaboration, conferencing, and productivity solutions, and is the technology owner of the Microsoft 365 suite, Zoom, Miro, and the company's voice and video conferencing technologies. This role also owns business-facing support for Confluence, Jira, and Ivanti Service Manager. This manager will have extensive experience in the modern digital workplace collaboration and productivity technologies, and will be expected to both manage the current state of technologies while thinking forward and creating a world where the collaboration technologies are less important than the outcomes and experiences, where AI, bots and automations are the anchor of operational excellence and where all employees are able to use these solutions effectively, securely and consistently to maximize their effectiveness.

This manager is fearless in engaging with senior leaders, and effectively leads stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. This manager also leads change and guides the team to engage employees, provides training and consultation on the use of technologies, and considers the user experience first and foremost within the scope of their work. Through this work, this manager will develop and lead an actionable digital transformation strategy and roadmap to enhance the employee work experience, drive business processes improvements, increase operational efficiency and meet organizational goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This leader is committed to growing and transforming our Digital Workplace workforce culture and applies their experience in developing new capabilities while serving as an effective coach and developer of talent
  • Has clear understanding of IT and business direction, strategy and expected results. Ensures the Workplace Collaboration team receives consistent messages and direction in driving toward that strategy
  • Continuously explores and implements innovative strategies and technologies, thinking outside the box to build a future-ready digital workplace.
  • Manages and maintains platforms with a focus on operational excellence, uptime, and user experience
  • Develops, manages, and contributes to short-term planning and long-term strategy to deliver digital workplace technology services and solutions that enhance user productivity, optimize end-user experiences, and meet business needs
  • Champions a user-centric approach in all digital workplace initiatives, ensuring that user experience is at the heart of every decision and solution design.
  • Shifts organizational focus from tool-centric to outcome-centric digital workplace strategies, measuring success by positive business impact and user satisfaction.
  • Plays an active role in the recruitment, evaluation, motivation, development, promotion, and performance improvement processes of the team
  • Defines team scope and objectives of planning processes which include develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and monthly status reports
  • Conducts team meetings and is responsible for team tracking and analysis
  • Plans, directs, monitors, and participates in development activities for team's projects; Responsible for the quality of project deliverables
  • Creates annual maintenance and project budgets, keeping the executive team up to date on the latest technologies that could help the company to succeed
  • Manages relationship with all service and support vendors and defines and communicates expectations
  • Reviews, manages, and resolves complex and highly complex problems involving one or more teams, systems or functions. Undertakes and oversees the process of defining problems and implementing solutions
  • Manages positive and proactive relationships with other managers within IT and across supported business units

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of aligning experience with Bachelor's degree; 1+ years supervisory/management experience
  • Deep understanding of the disciplines of digital workplace collaboration technologies, to include Microsoft 365 cloud solutions, Atlassian technologies, end user computing, and telecommunications
  • Proven track record of successful experiences in transformation initiatives inclusive of people, processes, and technology
  • Self-driven, passionate leader with expertise and experience of delivering full life cycle of technology projects, inclusive of cloud platforms and architectures
  • Proficient in ITIL with first-hand experience working with continual service improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining technology and service delivery platforms in highly-available enterprise environments
  • Demonstrates enterprise leadership pillars to Lead Like a Boss: Lead Yourself; Lead Others; Lead the Stakeholder; Lead the Business
  • Demonstrates enterprise competencies: Play well together; Grow with intention; Level up; Inspire what's next; Think big, make it happen.
  • Preferred: 10 years of progressively responsible experience within digital workplace related technologies and technology service leadership
  • Preferred: 7 years experience successfully and efficiently managing teams of technical and user facing resources
  • Preferred: 5 years experience implementing Service Level Agreements with associated metrics
  • Experience with infrastructure services and applications systems
  • Highly knowledgeable in preparing business plans, IT plans, Technology Road maps and technical project proposals
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and recommend the right solutions in a timely fashion
  • Knowledge in preparing and managing budgets
  • Demonstrated use of ingenuity and creativity by taking actions to direct the analyses and solutions of problems
  • Knowledge of project development life cycle, including the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, build and manage high performing teams
  • Ability to research and maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology
  • Demonstrated successful, efficient and effective communication with all levels of IT and across business stakeholders

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 24. $122,400 - $265,100
