Job description

Location: Tyler, TX Area
Employment Type: Part-time
Reports to: Regional Building Official
 

We are seeking a Code Enforcement Officer to perform field inspections and enforce municipal ordinances on an as-needed basis. This is a part-time position with no guaranteed minimum hours. Work volume may vary based on contract assignments.
 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Code Enforcement

  • Registered Code Enforcement Officer (RCEO) with the State of Texas required
     

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspections and investigate complaints to enforce municipal codes related to property maintenance, zoning, signage, environmental concerns, and abandoned/junk vehicles

  • Issue notices of violation, citations, and stop-work orders; clearly communicate corrective actions to property owners, contractors, and the public

  • Document case evidence with photographs, inspection notes, and reports; maintain accurate case files in VertexPlans

  • Prepare and present cases and providing testimony as required

  • Prepare and submit weekly timesheet reports to the supervisor in accordance with company procedures
     

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $30 – $40 per hour & 401(k) with 100% company match up to 5%, available after 90 days.

  • Part-Time — Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on client needs
