Job description

Position Overview

As a Chattel Closing Assistant, you will provide support to the Closing team throughout the loan closing and funding process. Working under the direction of the Closing Manager, you will assist with pipeline management, document review, condition collection, borrower and builder communication, and funding preparation. This entry-level role is designed to develop a thorough understanding of all closing and funding functions, with the expectation of learning the full Closing Specialist role and providing pipeline coverage during team member absences.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with maintaining loan pipelines and providing status updates to borrowers, builders, and internal partners.

Support the closing and funding process by sending closing documents, tracking signatures, and following up on outstanding requirements.

Collect, review, and organize funding conditions and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Obtain verifications of employment, address verifications, and other required borrower documentation.

Review signed closing documents and identify missing items or discrepancies for resolution.

Assist with accurately updating loan statuses and clearing funding conditions in accordance with established workflows.

Maintain regular follow-up on document signatures, funding conditions, and loan status updates to support timely funding.

Learn and understand all closing documents, workflows, policies, and funding procedures.

Support funding preparation and communicate clearly and accurately with Accounting and other internal departments as directed.

Adhere to all compliance requirements, service level expectations, and funding timelines.

Provide coverage and support for loan pipelines during Closing Specialist absences and periods of increased volume.

Escalate issues promptly and according to established escalation procedures.

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Closing Specialists or Closing Manager.

What you will need to join Cascade

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

High School Diploma (or equivalent) or two years consistent work history is required

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with borrowers, builders, and team members to support a positive customer and team experience

Capable of handling multiple assignments simultaneously while remaining organized and responsive to team needs.

Ability to adjust easily to work situations based on team member, group, or business needs.

Excellent listening, organizational, and time management skills.
