Our Mission:
Community Church exists to lead people into a focused life with Jesus Christ.
The Call:
The Facilities Coordinator serves as a key leader of our St. Johns ministry team, providing leadership and support in facility management, maintenance, custodial, and event preparation. This role exists to create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and hospitable worship atmosphere, helping fulfill the church's mission to lead people into a focused life with Jesus Christ.
The Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for:
1. Modeling Biblical Priorities
As a member of the Community Church staff, each employee is expected to lead by example in spiritual maturity, character, and lifestyle. Staff members are called to model a life of personal discipleship and to reflect the heart of Jesus in their relationships, leadership, and daily choices. These objectives are accomplished by:
  • Committing to a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ through regular time in scripture, prayer, and worship.
  • Actively participating in the life and mission of Community Church through groups and volunteer teams.
  • Demonstrating a contagious passion for reaching people far from God both locally and globally, and inviting them into a disciple-making process of spiritual growth, connectedness, and maturity.
  • Championing unity across all ministries and teams, avoiding gossip, and responding to challenges with a spirit of humility, grace, and reconciliation.
  • Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of Community Church employees as defined in the Staff Handbook.

2. Strategic Leadership and Ministry Oversight
The Facilities Coordinator implements the vision, strategy, and direction for facilities and grounds at the St. Johns Campus in alignment with the overall mission and vision set by the Lead Pastor and the Director of Operations. This role helps maintain consistency and cleanliness at our St. Johns Campus that reflects the mission of Community Church. These objectives are accomplished by:
  • Champion a culture of facility stewardship at the St. Johns Campus that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Community Church.
  • Maintain oversight of St. Johns building needs to support ministry programming in alignment with Community Church's strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Campus Pastor and the Director of Operations to ensure quality, consistency, and excellence in building maintenance and upkeep
  • Actively pursue growth as a leader by seeking feedback and development opportunities.

3. Core Competencies
The Facilities Coordinator serves as the champion for campus facilities and environments at the St. Johns Campus and demonstrates a high level of skill, commitment, and effectiveness in their ministry area. They deliver consistent, high-quality experiences that reflect the overall vision of Community Church. These objectives are accomplished by:
  • Effectively lead and execute all aspects of facility maintenance, event setup/teardown, and custodial upkeep to ensure readiness of Campus ministry programming.
  • Manage the campus facilities calendar, coordinating with ministry leaders and staff to ensure accurate scheduling, resource allocation, building readiness, and conflict-free planning.
  • Offer insights and problem-solving support for campus staff regarding facilities requests, event logistics, and resources needs.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in facility systems, general maintenance, vendor coordination, and project management.
  • May provide direct supervision of campus coordinators, interns, or additional facilities staff as assigned.

4. Leader Recruitment and Development
Our staff is committed to building healthy, capable teams by identifying, equipping, and empowering both staff and volunteers. The Facilities Coordinator plays a vital role in cultivating and developing volunteer leaders at the campus level through ongoing support, clear communication, and intentional discipleship. These objectives are accomplished by:
  • Develop a leadership pipeline for recruiting, onboarding, and training volunteers in alignment with Community Church standards.
  • Provide regular coaching, encouragement, and feedback to leaders and team members.
  • Under the guidance of the Campus Pastor, help foster a culture of spiritual growth, relational health, and leadership development at the St. Johns Campus.

5. Ministry Administration
Effective ministry requires intentional organization and faithful stewardship. The Facilities Coordinator supports the day-to-day administrative needs of facilities usage at their local campus, ensuring their ministry efforts are organized, efficient, and aligned with church-wide systems. These objectives are accomplished by:
  • Be a faithful steward of ministry resources, including tracking expenses, managing supplies, and assisting with budget planning under the guidance of the Campus Pastor/Director of Operations.
  • Maintain familiarity with systems that support the operation of Community Church, including but not limited to Church Community Builder, project management softwares, and more.
  • Communicate regularly with Campus Pastor and the Director of Operations to ensure smooth coordination and unity between campuses and central ministry leadership.

Accountability:
The Facilities Coordinator is accountable to the St. Johns Campus Pastor and will receive an annual performance review. Compensation is reviewed annually by the Board of Trustees.
Qualifications:
  1. Effective communication skills (oral and written).
  2. Excellent people management skills both with staff and volunteers.
  3. Experience in ministry in a medium to large church setting.
  4. An engaging communicator with a strong biblical and theological background.
  5. A self-motivated leader possessing relational skills with staff, volunteers and congregation.
  6. Experience in facility management, property management, event logistics, or related operations/support ministry area.
  7. General knowledge of basic facility systems (HVAC, security, custodial) and maintenance best practices.
  8. Basic proficiency with Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets)
  9. Basic proficiency with database software (Community Church to provide training).
