Salary: $55/hour
Hours: 20-40 hours per week, based on program needs and workload
Schedule: Must be available to conduct 1-hour on-site visits at least once per month at each EHS-CCP partner location, between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, with flexible hours for meetings, documentation, consultation, and other program needs.
United Way Miami is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Consultant to provide mental health consultation and support to children, families, and staff within our Early Head Start - Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) program.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide consultation to support children's social-emotional development and well-being.
  • Guide teaching staff regarding developmental and behavioral concerns, screenings, and individualized support strategies.
  • Consult with families and teachers regarding children's social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.
  • Support the use and interpretation of developmental and social-emotional screening tools, including DECA.
  • Participate in child reviews, parent meetings, case consultations, and staff trainings.
  • Provide recommendations and strategies to promote positive classroom environments and responsive caregiving practices.
  • Support referrals, service coordination, and connections to community mental health and developmental resources.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of consultations, observations, interventions, and follow-up activities in ChildPlus.
  • Collaborate with EHS-CCP staff, families, community providers, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and family-centered consultation and support.
  • Conduct required monthly on-site visits at each EHS-CCP partner location and provide consultation based on program and site needs.

Requirements
  • Active Florida professional license as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent licensed mental health professional.
  • Specialized experience working with infants, toddlers, young children, and their families.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development, infant and early childhood mental health, social-emotional development, and behavioral health.
  • Experience applying trauma-informed and family-centered practices.
  • Familiarity with developmental and social-emotional screening tools such as DECA, and PSI.
  • Experience with ChildPlus or a similar Head Start data/documentation system preferred.
  • Excellent communication, consultation, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse children, families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in Head Start, Early Head Start, early childhood education, or child care settings strongly preferred.
