Job Overview:
The Kitchen Chef's Assistant is responsible for executing and delivering high-quality, great-tasting food while utilizing proper food safety and sanitation procedures. The Kitchen Chef's Assistant is an integral position in the execution of the restaurant and kitchen. The Kitchen Chef's Assistant in an open kitchen format contributes to the entire guest experience. The Kitchen Chef's Assistant supports the culinary management team and the other line-level culinary team members to ensure menu items are executed excellently in the restaurant. Additionally, the Kitchen Chef's Assistant supports managing quality in all aspects of their job.
Reports to: All Culinary Leadership and General Manager, with a dotted line to the Director of Operations
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist the Culinary management team with the overall direction and execution of artistically plating the evening service
• Uphold the highest standards for the quality and consistency of the items served to our guests before plates leave the pass.
• Assist with the control of the flow of the items as they come out from the kitchen
• Command a presence in the kitchen for the finalization of the plates overseeing all details.
• Maintain a good demeanor in our show kitchen, where food is the art, and our kitchen is the stage.
• Be willing to execute tasks to assist the chef, including production and administrative needs.
• Communicate effectively with the service professionals delivering and overseeing the evening's service.
About Charlie and Joe's at Love Street: Charlie and Joe's at Love Street is a multifaceted, waterfront hospitality venue located along the south shore of the Jupiter Inlet. The Charlie and Joe's at Love Street consists of two different buildings. To the East is Lucky Shuck, our Southern Oyster Bar & Tap House restaurant concept that will also include a retail seafood market and limited "fine casual" grab-and-go offering called Tacklebox. The two-story West Building features Beacon, a Contemporary American Grille concept, along with Topside, a rooftop tapas bar and observatory lounge/viewing area.
Founded on the idea of creating an exciting and innovative hospitality destination, the overall vision for Charlie and Joe's at Love Street is to usher in the next evolution of waterfront restaurants and bars in Jupiter, FL. Consequently, a set of unique experiences were created for this hospitality venture, which offers various levels of dining based on the individual preferences of the guests and/or demographics, whether they simply wish to share a few small plates over drinks, sit down for a multi-course dinner, or come off their boat and dine outside in a more relaxed, al fresco setting.
