Job Description:

The William Fell, a beautifully restored property in the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is seeking a dynamic and driven Catering Sales Manager to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a sales professional with high energy, creativity, and a passion for hospitality who is looking to grow their career. The role will focus on securing and managing catering and event business for all markets.

This individual must take ownership of the sales process, build strong community relationships, and deliver exceptional service to clients. In this role, you'll have the exciting opportunity to grow into an Area Catering Sales Manager, with responsibility for driving catering sales for our other boutique Baltimore properties.

We are looking for someone who thrives on challenge, loves the thrill of closing a sale, and can seamlessly handle multiple priorities with a service-first mindset.

This Sales Manager should also have the ability to manage change effectively with clear written and verbal communication. The success of this position will be achieved by taking ownership of the sales process. Be creative and feel free to make contributions and suggestions with regard to office procedures or services that will make a hotel guest stay more enjoyable or more profitable for the hotel.

Major Functions:

The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for selling and servicing catered events and group functions at The William Fell. This individual will be expected to maintain and improve relationships with current accounts; identify new business, and become an active participant in the local community. Assists as needed with special projects or activities as directed by the Director of Sales or General Manager.

Qualifications:

· Must have at least 2 years of selling group business in a Hotel with a proven track record of success.

· Detail oriented & self-motivated with a strong emphasis on achieving goals.

· Must possess the ability to complete telephone solicitation calls and in person sales calls, both in-house and offsite.

· Must be able to negotiate group room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.

· Experience in managing group bookings and events - developing banquet event orders, must possess excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and telephone skills.

· Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company policies and procedures

· Attends and represents at trades shows

· Experience using Delphi.FDC sales and catering system.

· Hilton and Choice experience is a plus

· Must be flexible – job requires some weekend hours

Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement targeted sales strategies for the SMERF market segments

· Books quality business which meets the needs of the client as well as the hotels’ budgeted criteria.

· Fully understands that the most important function of the Sales Department is to book business at a profitable level.

· Participates in weekly Sales and Yield meetings, and after hour’s functions such as special events outside of the Hotel with Networking events, etc.

· Collaborate with the event planning and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of group bookings.

· Maintaining a professional appearance, and a personality in rapport with customers and other employees.

· Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.

· Respond to inquiries in a timely manner and provide exceptional customer service to corporate clients.

· Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure their group and meeting needs are met and exceed expectations.

· Monitor competitor activity in the SMERF market segment and adjust strategies accordingly.
