About the Role: As a Load Out Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, handling, and moving materials and equipment to support daily operations and project schedules.
You will work closely with supervisors and field teams to ensure all load-outs are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company and regulatory standards. This role operates on a 12-hour shift, 5 days per week, with the flexibility to occasionally work evenings to meet operational demands. Key Responsibilities: Perform safe and efficient rigging and lifting operations for equipment and materials, following approved procedures and load plans.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and load components for shipment or deployment. Set up, monitor, and assist with spooling operations, ensuring correct tension, alignment, and documentation of cable or line spools. Inspect, prepare, and secure loads, ensuring proper weight distribution, balance, and tie-down in accordance with safety standards.
Conduct pre-use inspections and basic maintenance checks on forklifts, rigging gear, and related equipment, reporting defects or hazards. Coordinate with supervisors, logistics, and field crews to prioritise and complete load-outs within required timeframes. Maintain accurate records of load-out activities, equipment movements, and material tracking as required by site procedures.
Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards throughout the shift. Key Requirements: Proven experience in a load-out, warehouse, yard, or industrial operations role involving material handling. Demonstrated competency in rigging and lifting operations in an industrial or construction environment.
Proficient forklift operation skills, including handling heavy and oversized loads. Strong understanding of safety compliance, including adherence to site rules, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Ability to read and follow load plans, instructions, and basic technical documentation.
Physically capable of working 12-hour shifts, 5 days per week, including manual handling and working outdoors in varying conditions. Willingness and flexibility to occasionally work evenings to meet operational needs. Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team under time-sensitive conditions.
Desirable Skills: Experience with spooling operations for cable, wireline, or similar products. Familiarity with oil and gas, marine, or heavy industrial environments. Experience using basic hand tools and equipment related to load-out and spooling activities.
Exposure to basic inventory control or materials tracking systems. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Valid forklift operator certification.
Recognised rigging and lifting certification or training (e.g. basic or intermediate rigging) preferred. OSHA or equivalent safety training certification preferred
