Description
We are seeking a full-time Cable Assembler responsible for building precision cable assemblies for critical industry applications containing stranded wire rope, conduit, sub-assemblies, fasteners, and other component parts according to customer specifications. This role involves operating a variety of machines, measuring devices, and load testing equipment, through a multi-stage production process. The Cable Assembler has a critical role and must be dedicated to the utmost in quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Shift:
Monday - Friday, 3:30PM - 12:00AM
Essential Job Functions:
Equipment Operation:
  • Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to ensure dimensional conformance and proper production and tooling setups.
  • Operate rotary swagers, pneumatic and hydraulic crimpers and presses, grinders, and load testing machinery, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with precision measuring equipment to verify quality and engineering requirements.
  • Verify, inspect, and change out dies and other tooling as necessary.
  • Respond to abnormal equipment behavior promptly, notifying supervisors or maintenance personnel when issues require technical support.

Material Identification:
  • Identify different materials based on labels and specifications to ensure the correct material type is used for each production order. Understand unique material properties so the correct finished good tolerances are achieved during the manufacturing process.

Communication & Collaboration:
  • Communicate clearly with management regarding production status, non-conformances, or material concerns

Quality & Safety Compliance:
  • Follow production drawings, work instructions, and part specifications. Perform in-process inspections to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with all safety procedures

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with high attention to detail required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in assembly, manufacturing, or production required, preferably with hydraulic presses and basic shop equipment
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and consistency required
  • Able to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required
  • Ability to stand and or sit for long periods of time required
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. required
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings is preferred
