Manufacturing Engineer


Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, debugging, and implementing electrical controls hardware and software for FANUC's Robot Factory. This individual will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and project management to deliver automation solutions that support high-volume manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, customer-focused problem solver who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has experience with FANUC robots, industrial automation, PLCs, and robot programming.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC and HMI programs to improve machine performance.
  • Program, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial robots for automated manufacturing processes.
  • Develop custom KAREL programs for testing, data transfer, and automation applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify process bottlenecks and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Design and implement automation upgrades and process control systems.
  • Coordinate product and system validation testing to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams throughout all phases of improvement projects.
  • Train maintenance and production personnel on new equipment, systems, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Follow projects from design through implementation to ensure quality, performance, and schedule adherence.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or production engineering experience in an equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience creating and modifying electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Proficiency with industrial robot programming (FANUC experience preferred).
  • Experience programming PLCs using Rockwell, Siemens, or similar platforms.
  • Experience developing KAREL programs is highly preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of automation or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with material handling, robotic assembly, welding, or other industrial robotic applications.
  • Experience using FANUC ROBOGUIDE simulation software.
