Butcher
Carlie C's IGA is seeking an EXPERIENCED Butcher to fill an immediate opening. Only candidates WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE in all cuts of beef, pork, and chicken in a Grocery Store Meat Market environment will be considered. The ideal candidate is proficient in using band saws, slicers, cubers, grinders, and knives to cut all cuts of beef, pork, and chicken. Wrapping skills also required, as well as maintaining all sanitation and safety requirements. This is a full time position with optional company benefits. Candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week that will include weekend work and most holidays. A Butcher at Carlie C's IGA realizes that providing prompt and friendly customer service is priority #1. Being courteous and cooperative with both customer and coworker is a critical aspect of maximizing sales and building business for years to come.
Duties
  • Cutting, grinding, slicing, trimming, weighing, sealing, packaging and labeling product.
  • Unload trucks, store in proper place.
  • Check product dates, rotate properly.
  • Sanitize and clean equipment.
  • Keep meat department floors clean of clutter.
  • Assist customers in finding products; wait on them at counter timely and cheerfully.

Qualifications
  • Must be able to lift 80 lbs with no assistance.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, friendly, outgoing, neat and clean in appearance.
  • Must enjoy working with the public.
  • Must be very customer oriented.
  • Must be able to read shelf tags, labels and signs.
  • Must have a good work record as a Butcher.
