Opportunity to work at an artisnal butchershop . Curtis Stone’s ‘Gwen’, a Specialty Butcher Shop and Restaurant, is looking for talented individuals to join their team and further their career in butchery. He/she should have a high-standard, strong work ethic, and consider butchery their career. Applicants should possess experience in the field of whole animal butchery and sausage making.

An ideal candidate could be an experienced butcher looking to join one of the finest butcher shops in Los Angeles or a cook looking to gain more experince in butchery.

- Opening/Closing the retail case

- Cutting for the retail case as well as for restaurant service

- Assisting customers

- Receiving deliveries, and lifting up to 100#

Ideal Candidates would possess:

  • Experience breaking sub-primals of beef, pork, lamb and poultry
  • Experience in making sausages
  • Experience creating Value Added Products, minimizing waste.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • An ability to work clean and tight.
  • An understanding of various cuts of meat, charcuterie, and cooking techniques.
  • 1+ years of experience in a retail butcher shop/grocery meat department.

We are however, willing to train the right candidate if they possess a strong kitchen background.
