Position Overview

The Process Optimization Analyst drives operational excellence across Capitol Aggregates' plant network through advanced process analysis, performance evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role combines strong analytical expertise with field-based operational understanding to identify inefficiencies, lead improvement initiatives, and support long-term strategies that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve operational consistency across multiple sites.


What You'll Do

  • Lead comprehensive process assessments across multiple plant sites to identify inefficiencies, downtime drivers, and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and support strategic improvement roadmaps aligned with operational goals and business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives from concept through implementation and post-implementation evaluation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for operational data, process modeling, and analytical tools.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and performance metrics to track operational results and identify performance gaps.
  • Perform root cause analysis of operational issues and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Evaluate best practices across sites and support standardization of processes and operational discipline.
  • Support capital project evaluations through technical analysis, scenario modeling, and post-investment performance reviews.
  • Engage regularly with plant managers, supervisors, and corporate teams to share findings and align improvement efforts.
  • Promote continuous improvement principles and support a culture of operational excellence.

What You'll Bring

Required Skills and Abilities

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data modeling, and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to operational and executive audiences.
  • Experience with process mapping tools and statistical or analytical software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with mechanical and process systems used in aggregate production environments.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Analytics required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in process improvement, operations optimization, or performance analytics required.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting multi-site operations or corporate operations functions preferred.
