A Business Development Representative (BDR) is a sales professional responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying and qualifying potential leads. BDRs typically reach out to prospects, initiate conversations, and gather information to determine if they are a good fit for the company's products or services. They often set up meetings or demos for more senior sales staff, helping to fill the sales pipeline. BDRs play a critical role in the early stages of the sales process, focusing on outbound prospecting and relationship building.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a business development representative (BDR)?

To thrive as a Business Development Representative (BDR), you need strong communication, research, and sales prospecting skills, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
