Director of Business Development

CareOne Senior Care

Farmington, MI โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Posted 25 days ago

Job description

CareOne Senior Care is seeking an experienced, well-connected Director of Business Development, Sales & Marketing to lead census growth across our Greater Southeast Michigan service area. This role is for a proven home care, home health, or hospice sales professional who already carries an active referral network of Social Workers, Discharge Planners, Case Managers, Elder Law Attorneys, and Senior Living communities into the position.

This is not an entry-level or build-from-scratch territory role. We are looking for a leader who can walk in with existing relationships and referral flow, and who is ready to shape and drive CareOne's overall business development strategy — not just execute a call plan.

About CareOne Senior Care

CareOne is a leading non-medical private duty home care agency serving all five counties of Greater Southeast Michigan, with offices in Farmington Hills. Our service portfolio goes well beyond standard home care — including specialty programs and a proprietary benefit navigation division found nowhere else in this market. CareOne is known for high-touch client care, strong clinical partnerships, and a rapidly growing footprint across the region.

Position Summary

The Director of Business Development, Sales & Marketing owns CareOne's overall referral growth strategy and results. This person will bring established relationships with referral sources across our Greater Southeast Michigan territory, including but not limited to Novi, Farmington Hills, Northville, Livonia, Plymouth, Royal Oak, West Bloomfield, and Bloomfield Hills, and will be responsible for translating those relationships into consistent, measurable new client starts. The role combines hands-on field sales with strategic marketing planning and reports directly to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow CareOne's referral base across Social Workers, Case Managers, Discharge Planners, Hospitals, Rehabs, Admissions Coordinators, Senior Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Elder Law Attorneys, and Home Health & Hospice partners.
  • Bring an active book of business and referral relationships into the role and convert them into new client starts from day one.
  • Design and lead CareOne's overall business development and marketing strategy, including field sales, direct mail, email campaigns, newsletters, community outreach, and social media.
  • Set territory plans, sales targets, and KPIs; track referral source conversion (SIF-to-assessment and assessment-to-start) and report results to executive leadership.
  • Represent CareOne at trade shows, conferences, networking events, and community education programs.
  • Serve as the face of CareOne Senior Care, building the company's reputation and visibility across the market.
  • Mentor and provide direction to any future business development team members as the department grows.
  • Be available as needed on evenings and weekends to support referral sources and grow the business.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of proven sales and business development success in home care, home health, hospice, or a closely related healthcare field.
  • An established, active network of referral sources in the Southeast Michigan market that can be activated immediately.
  • A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding census and revenue growth goals.
  • Strong territory management, strategic planning, and business plan execution skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building instincts with the polish to represent CareOne at the executive and referral-source level.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with quick, detail-oriented follow-up.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, along with the ability to learn CareOne's scheduling and CRM systems.
  • A self-motivated, driven leader who thrives with autonomy and accountability.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission. Total compensation is designed to reward an experienced professional who brings referral relationships and results — the more you grow the territory, the more you earn.

How to Apply

If you are a home care, home health, or hospice business development professional with an active referral network in Southeast Michigan and you're ready for a leadership-level opportunity, we want to hear from you.
