Responsibilities Job Summary

Under the direction of the Vice President of Business Development, the Regional Director of Business Development plays a key role in shaping and executing Company policies and strategies. This role is responsible for aligning these initiatives with the overall vision and goals of American Addiction Centers. The Regional Director leads the development and implementation of strategic growth initiatives, managing a regional Business Development team and overseeing regional marketing efforts to drive admissions and foster growth within designated regions.

Territory: State of Nevada

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research designated region for viable business opportunities for strategic growth; includes planning in partnership with team members to promote successful implementation.
  • Provide a strategic plan for growth, teach team members how to pivot and adapt to ensure goals are met.
  • Contribute to the creation of Business Development policies and procedures; includes collaboration with AAC team members to align these protocols to the overall goals and objectives of the Business Development team and Company overall.
  • Adapt and influence policy development, guide organizational change, and collaborate closely with senior leadership to navigate and shape the Company's direction in the ever-evolving landscape of SUD admissions.
  • Directors are expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of how various parts of the organization interconnect and guide processes and changes to achieve organizational goals.
  • In partnership with the Business Development leadership, assess and modify behavioral interviewing techniques to select Outreach Coordinators best suited to achieve and sustain growth within the region(s).
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to actively recruit and refer talent to the Business Development team.
  • Responsible for training and onboarding new Outreach Coordinators; includes proactive check-in and additional training through the first six months of employment.
  • Provide ongoing training to Outreach Coordinators, pending execution of growth strategies; includes ongoing enhancement of soft skills and sales skills.
  • In partnership with the Outreach Coordinators, responsible for pipeline development, including prospecting, region performance analysis, and troubleshooting in difficult and/or competitive markets with the Outreach Consultant.
  • Conduct field training sessions with Outreach Coordinators 1 time per quarter.
  • Provide oversight to Outreach Coordinator with respect to servicing schedule to ensure a balance of account maintenance as well as new business development as it relates to strategic growth initiatives (SGI’s).
  • Monitor customer relationship manager (CRM; Salesforce) to ensure that all Outreach Coordinators document all sales activity.
  • Report actual performance vs. performance expectations for the region; includes facility goals, length of stay (LOS) and average daily census (ADC).
  • Plan and lead weekly regional team conference calls.
  • Collaborate and trouble shoot with Outreach consultants in conjunction with all departments within AAC to ensure a seamless patient experience and growth of our referral base (repetitive - consider moving or deleting).
  • Preparation and conduct performance evaluations in alignment with the Company standards; may require increased frequency pending Outreach Consultant performance.
  • Provides feedback on a monthly and quarterly review basis with all Outreach Coordinators.
  • In partnership with other Regional Directors, assess and communicate appropriate compensation recommendations, if applicable to the VP, Business Development.
  • Hold staff accountable for completing all required training as designated by the Company.
  • Responsible for staffing the region to levels required to achieve strategic growth goals.
  • Responsible for owning and maintaining favorable budget expenses including human capital, travel, client related expenses, and timely documentation/reconciliation within Expensify.
  • Monitors adherence to Company and department policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the Company’s policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP, Business Development.
Qualifications Education/ Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a relevant field, with accountability for team performance, strategic direction, and driving operational success.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development and sales experience in a relevant industry, with a proven track record in developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth and increase market share.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, train and maintain a healthy sales culture.
  • Has strong 1 on 1 communication skills to deliver individual coaching, training and accountability.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of treatment modalities, levels of care, and industry best practices for behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of managed care and insurance- as it relates to behavioral health.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and execute general correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Proficient in Salesforce or CRM platform.
  • Ability to create and analyze reports that monitor KPI performance against strategic goals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
