Job description

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth in the professional beauty market for our premium hair extension products. This role is focused on developing and managing distribution partnerships, expanding brand presence in salons, and building long-term relationships within the professional beauty ecosystem. You will act as a key connector between our brand and regional/national distributors, salon chains, and independent stylists.

  • Our ideal candidate for this role is located in the Ohio or Pennsylvania with easy access to an airport to travel throughout the territory. Columbus, Ohio, Cincinnati, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Allentown, Pennsylvania
  • Day travel all over the east territory and will be required approximately 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:


Channel Development & Distribution Strategy

  • Identify and develop new customer opportunities within the professional beauty industry (e.g., regional distributors, beauty supply chains, salon networks).
  • Manage and grow existing distribution partnerships to drive sell-in and sell-through.
  • Evaluate market trends and competitors to inform regional expansion and channel strategies.

Sales Growth & Target Achievement

  • Build and execute quarterly business plans to meet sales goals and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to align campaigns, promotions, and education initiatives that support distributor success.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with distribution partners to optimize performance.

Relationship Management

  • Cultivate strong relationships with distributor reps, salon decision-makers, educators, and beauty professionals.
  • Act as a brand ambassador at industry trade shows, distributor events, and training summits.
  • Partner with salon owners and educators to generate demand and ensure successful product adoption.

Education & Product Launches

  • Coordinate with the education team to implement training for distributor reps and salon staff.
  • Oversee successful execution of product launches in the professional channel.
  • Provide market feedback to help shape future products and services.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the beauty, haircare, or CPG industry.
  • Proven success working with or managing beauty distributors and salon-based retail channels.
  • Deep understanding of the professional beauty ecosystem, including stylists, educators, and salons.
  • Strong track record of driving sales growth and cultivating long-term business relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative, accountability, and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel 50โ€“60% for in-person meetings, events, and trade shows.
  • Passion for beauty, emerging hair trends, and supporting professionals in the salon industry.
  • Experience in the hair extension category is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and data analysis tools.
