The Role
The Bio+Health Business Development team supports and consults portfolio teams on their go-to-market strategy across market development and business development. The Associate will build commercial and strategic partnership opportunities for the portfolio within our network of executives, privately held companies, and federal agencies. Our team's goal is to support each portfolio company in its pursuit of product-market-fit and scaled commercialization.
The BD Associate will be a key member of the Bio+Health Business Development team managing day to day interaction with the portfolio companies. This team member will manage connections with industry partners, relationships and tracking of interactions, preparation of documents, project management and account management.

  • Assist in managing the Firm's strategic relationships with key corporate partners in Healthcare
  • Create and manage dashboards that deliver key insights on industry developments and trends
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of strategic projects and portfolio support
  • Develop compelling presentation materials that communicate strategy and drive alignment across internal stakeholders, strategic partners, and portfolio companies.
  • Assist in coordinating and maintaining contractual relationships with external corporate partners
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of corporate partnerships/consulting experience in healthcare
  • Self starter, self motivation, can do attitude and collaborative
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across the operational groups
  • Experience includes but is not limited to, partnerships, corp dev roles, M&A role, management consulting, and other healthcare-focused roles where relationship management was key priority
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and project manage key relationships
  • Strong Proficiency in Excel/Google suite
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $192,000 - $224,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope. This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave. a16z culture
