Position Title: Business Development Specialist
Location: Atlanta, GA
Work Setting (Remote/ Hybrid/ On-site): On-site
Compensation: This position offers a base salary ranging from $70,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on the candidate's education, experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the role's responsibilities.

Performance-Based Incentive Opportunity: In addition to base compensation, this position is eligible for performance-based bonuses tied to business development and revenue-generation activities. Bonus eligibility, structure, and payout amounts will be determined based on individual performance and company objectives.

This compensation structure is designed to reward professionals who proactively contribute to the growth and success of the organization while building long-term client partnerships.

POSITION SUMMARY

2MNEXT is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Business Development Specialist to support our growing marketing and business development efforts across the Southeast. This role is ideal for a driven professional with 2 to 5 years of experience in the A/E/C industry who enjoys relationship building, fast-paced environments, and taking initiative to help drive company growth.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to be involved in all aspects of business development and marketing support including proposals, client engagement, industry events, opportunity tracking, CRM management, and strategic outreach efforts. This individual should be comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical professionals and capable of managing multiple priorities with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career within the engineering and construction industry while gaining hands-on exposure to client development, pursuit strategy, and A/E/C marketing operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Client Relationship Development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients across the engineering, transportation, aviation, and construction industries
  • Conduct regular client outreach and follow-up to strengthen relationships and identify upcoming opportunities
  • Attend client meetings, networking events, conferences, industry association events, and community engagement activities representing 2MNEXT professionally
  • Support leadership in developing and maintaining strategic client engagement plans
  • Track client activity, relationship touchpoints, and follow-up actions within the company CRM
Business Development amp; Market Strategy
  • Identify and track upcoming project opportunities across public and private sector markets
  • Monitor procurement platforms, capital improvement programs, and industry developments across multiple states
  • Research clients, competitors, teaming partners, market trends, and key decision-makers to support business development strategy
  • Assist with capture planning efforts for strategic pursuits
  • Support go/no-go discussions and opportunity evaluations
  • Coordinate teaming outreach and relationship development with subcontractors, consultants, and strategic partners
  • Help position 2MNEXT within target markets through proactive outreach and relationship-building efforts
Proposal Strategy amp; Pursuit Support
  • Support proposal and pursuit efforts by assisting with strategy, positioning, coordination, and scheduling
  • Participate in kickoff meetings, pursuit planning discussions, and interview preparation efforts
  • Coordinate with technical staff and leadership to gather pursuit-related information and ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist with development of win themes, differentiators, and client-focused messaging
  • Help track proposal outcomes, client feedback, and pursuit metrics to support continuous improvement
Industry Engagement amp; Brand Presence
  • Represent 2MNEXT at industry organizations, trade associations, conferences, and networking events
  • Assist with coordination of sponsorships, conferences, career fairs, and client engagement events
  • Support follow-up efforts after events including lead tracking, introductions, and relationship development
  • Collaborate with marketing and technical staff to strengthen the company’s visibility and presence within the industry
CRM amp; Internal Coordination
  • Maintain accurate and organized CRM data including client contacts, opportunities, teaming partners, and pursuit activity
  • Assist with business development reporting, pipeline tracking, and market activity updates
  • Coordinate internal meetings, action items, and follow-up related to business development initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with operations, marketing, recruiting, and technical teams to support company growth objectives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Relations, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in business development, client relations, marketing, recruiting, or project coordination within the A/E/C industry
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, technical staff, and leadership
  • High level of initiative, professionalism, and accountability with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability and willingness to attend industry events, networking functions, and occasional regional travel as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Experience supporting business development or pursuit efforts within engineering, consulting, construction, transportation, aviation, or related professional services industries
  • Familiarity with public-sector procurement processes including RFQs, RFPs, and teaming strategies
  • Existing relationships or involvement within A/E/C industry organizations or professional associations
  • Experience using CRM platforms, procurement websites, or opportunity tracking systems
  • Understanding of the engineering, construction, or infrastructure consulting industry
