B&R Industrial Automation, a segment of ABB's Automation Business, is hiring for a Business Development Engineer to drive new business and market penetration in North America, specifically on the Eastern part of the United States. The Business Development Engineer will play an integral role in identifying untapped markets and growing the customer base in the territory.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Grow sales of B&R's complete product range in the territory by working on new and existing sales opportunities
  • Identify, define, and develop the best technical solution and strategy for customerapplications
  • Hold in-depth technical presentations and discussions with thecustomers
  • Expand customer base through the development and execution of a Target Account Business Plan
  • Develop market intelligence and document this knowledge in B&R's CRM system (Customer Relationship Management)system
  • Work with Marketing, Business Development, and other resources to promote salesefforts
  • Attend trade shows to seek out potential customers and torepresentB&R at theseshows; attend yearly sales meetings andworkshops
  • Increase sales with existing customers through exceptional sales support as well as the introduction of new products andservices
  • Additionalduties asassigned

Qualifications for the Role:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or similar) or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years' relevant experience in cold-calling, technical sales, business development and lead generation; prior automation industry preferred
  • Experience with Machine and Motion Controldesirable
  • Ability to understand and explain technical products andsolutions helpful
  • Travel up to 50% - 75% within territory (mostly domestic with occasional international); applicants must possess a valid passport
  • Applicants should possess authorization that would allow them to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship
