Job description

About Wayflyer

Today's small businesses need a capital provider that keeps pace with their growth ambitions. Traditional financing options are slow, cumbersome and often out of reach. That's why we built Wayflyer.

Our technology allows us to assess businesses in minutes, generate financing offers that reflect their growth potential and send funds in as little as 24 hours. To date, we've deployed over $6bn to thousands of businesses worldwide, backed by Tier 1 banks like J.P. Morgan.

You’ll be collaborating with ambitious colleagues from around the world. We have offices in Dublin, London, New York, Charlotte, Berlin and Sydney.

The challenge

Thousands of businesses we've already funded are now scaling fast enough to need more capital, more often - and the way we manage that relationship determines whether they grow with us or drift toward someone else. We've deployed over $6bn to growing businesses globally, and that portfolio is only getting bigger. The opportunity in front of us is significant, and we need people who can capitalise on it.

What you’ll actually do
  • This is a broker-first sales & relationship management role - you'll work daily with external brokerages to turn funded customers into repeat, subsequent deals, while managing the direct customer relationship in parallel.

  • Own a portfolio of existing customers end to end - upsells, renewals, and the harder conversations around churn.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with our brokerage partners - understand their book of business, be their go-to at Wayflyer, and work with them to get repeat customers back in for their next deal.

  • Maintain an exceptional customer experience, leading with empathy and putting customers’ needs first as they navigate financial underwriting and renewals.

  • Get fluent in each customers numbers - cash flow, sales cycles, marketing spend, underwriting outcomes - enough to have a real opinion on what they need next, not just what they're asking for. You'll also need to be fluent in our buy and sell rates, so you can speak credibly to the broker on deal economics.

  • Coach and enable customers & brokers to become product experts using Wayflyer dashboards & our broker portal.

  • Maintain our high bar for customer satisfaction (we’re currently rated 4.6 stars on Trustpilot!)

What this role could turn into

This role can grow in one of two directions - moving into one of our newer verticals, or into senior roles and then team leadership as we scale. Our broker channel is scaling rapidly, which means the people who perform here will have real options. We'd rather promote from within than hire from outside, and our track record reflects that.

Who thrives here

You’ve worked in sales, account management or broker relations before, and you didn't just hit your number; you understood exactly why you hit it and what to do differently when you didn’t. You don't wait for a customer to ask for help - you've usually already spotted it. You're energised by ambiguity, not paralysed by it. You build rapport fast - with brokers and customers - you know that in this business, the strength of both relationships is what gets money in the door. You're comfortable navigating the US broker market and managing relationships across multiple brokerage firms simultaneously - this is a core part of the role, not a nice-to-have.

We hire for range

We’re most interested in a track record of turning relationships into revenue. You bring innovative ideas to inspire customer loyalty and adoption. Knowledge of finance and accounting will be helpful.

Location and working policy

Charlotte, hybrid

The good stuff

25 days off, plus public holidays. Private healthcare, life insurance, and 401k. Equity - because you should own a piece of what you're building. Generous parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers. 60 days a year to work abroad from wherever you want.
