In this role, the Associate Account Executive is responsible for the following functions:
  • Assists Sales Representative and Functional Manager in the management of external and internal customer relationships.
  • Assists Sales Representative in the development and execution of sales strategy for each group customer or prospect.
  • Participates in sales meetings, presentations, open enrollments, and site visits to cultivate account relationships
  • Works with Sales Representatives to understand and effectively communicate funding arrangements and stop loss quotes/renewals.
  • Actively demonstrates comprehensive understanding of AHA/IA products, the competitive environment and the industry.
  • Responsible for on-going account management including renewals, proposals, customer reporting and day to day service inquiries.
  • Builds effective relationships with brokers, consultants, and group leaders which maximize sales opportunities.
  • Responsible to maintain active sales license for position.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications - External
Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing/a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years' work experience in health insurance/related industry sales or marketing where building relationships/repeat customers is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a high-volume, highly visible, deadline-oriented environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of benefit plans & insurance products required.
  • Administration required as is a broad understanding of health insurance funding and rating methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Active PA State Accident & Health license required. Sales license must be obtained within 60 days of hire into position.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable car for extensive visits to account/broker locations.
