Summary
The Bilingual Construction Trainer, under the guidance of the Corporate Head of Training, is responsible for design, development, delivery, and measurement of applicable training programs that improve co-worker performance and develop their skills for both current and future duties.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Bilingual Construction Trainer will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:
  • Works directly with leaders and SMEs to define skill or knowledge gaps through one-on-one interviewing
  • Proposes realistic solutions to improve performance where training is the appropriate approach
  • Works directly with leaders, learners, and SMEs to design training material
  • Identifies most effective uses of traditional classroom delivery, virtual/on-line delivery, or structured on-the-job training
  • Assists with development of video-based microlearning efforts, as well as ensuring finalized resources are shared with co-workers in an educationally-sound manner
  • Uses engaging facilitation skills to successfully deliver technical and/or soft skills programs
  • Provides guidance and direction to SMEs, who may be tasked with presenting portions of live training
  • Reviews existing training to determine effectiveness on participant performance. Proposes updates where appropriate
  • Monitors and tracks learners, following training to confirm jobsite application of skills and positive business impacts
  • Fulfills other tasks, responsibilities, or projects as assigned.

Requirements
  • 5 years or more of related training experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Organizational Learning, or Education is a plus
  • Extensive experience with use of Microsoft products such as: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Able to use web-based meeting tools and mobile device applications

The following competencies are needed to successfully perform this job:
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with ability to translate written content, is required
  • Ability to effectively express oneself using written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures, regulations and laws
  • Exceptional ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to calculate mathematical equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to calculate expenses related to training-related travel, and correctly enter them for reimbursement
  • Ability to adapt training style to accommodate individual co-workers in attendance
  • Ability to work alongside co-workers individually and in a team environment
  • Ability to create partnerships with operational leaders
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision in a self-driven manner
  • Ability to research and deeply analyze various types of data
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to use good judgment to apply standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; especially able to use sound and consistent judgment in the absence of policies and laws
