Allegiance Crane & Equipment is a top employer in the Crane Industry! We are looking for a Safety Coordinator that is a hard-working team player to join our team in the Beaumont, TX location. Essential Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for the prevention of incidents & accidents in the workplace.
  • Provide technical advice and services for the proper operation of our equipment in the field.
  • Assist in adopting and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that company & customer objectives are met.
  • Conduct regular job site visits & audits to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed, and team members are performing work safely.
  • Represent the Company in customer safety meetings, as required.
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations. Properly document such investigations and ensure appropriate actions are taking to mitigate further incidents.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate drug testing is completed to meet company, DOT, and customer requirements. Pre-employment excluded.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all DOT Regulations are followed at assigned locations, including the maintenance of Driver Qualification files.
  • Conduct training needs analysis of the location to determine gaps. Acquire or create training programs to fill in gaps in training and/or skills. i.e. forklift operator, fall protections, rigger, first aid, etc.
  • Ensure work-related injuries are properly managed and appropriate treatment is provided, in accordance with our worker compensation insurance carrier.
  • Keep the Director of Safety abreast of all injuries and incidents.
  • Create objectives for local teams for continuous improvement.
  • Champion company programs and initiatives to ensure compliance at local and area level.
Requirements
  • Crane & Rigging, Industrial, and/or Construction background required
  • Degree in Occupational Safety & Health preferred
  • Minimum CSST safety certification preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA laws and regulations required.
  • Min 5 yrs. experience managing injuries
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proactive approach to problem solving (critical thinker)
  • Proficient computer skills.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, stoop, climb, and move about job sites and equipment. Some heavy physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 25 lb. Will regularly be exposed to noise, heat, dust, and fumes around facilities and job sites. Extreme weather conditions possible, at times. Must be able to drive a vehicle for local travel.
